Electric cars: the most sold in Italy, prices with Ecobonus and scrapping

The electric car market in Italy is in full growth: the offer is increasing and the substantial state Ecobonus (in addition to the short periods in which similar incentives existed at the regional level) provides a considerable boost. The general improvement in travel ranges and the timid expansion of the charging infrastructure do the rest. In the first seven months of 2021, registrations in our country increased by 440% compared to the same period of 2019, a relative performance higher than that of the hybrid with internal charging (+ 290%) and plug-in (+ 1,512%). The exclusively thermal powered cars are hopelessly in decline for now universally known reasons. It should be remembered that the internally recharged hybrids include mild hybrids, to which all the models previously only running on petrol or diesel converge and that for various reasons it is not convenient to equip more capacious batteries. It is also important to remember the absolute numbers. Although in shape, fully electric cars amounted to only 5,096 new units registered at the end of July, against a market of 111,300 units; this is 3.5%. But how much do the best-selling electric cars cost in Italy? We considered the first 10 models from January to July 2021 (Unrae elaborations on data from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport), comparing the turnkey list price and the prices once the state Ecobonus has been subtracted. Ascending order for units sold (from tenth to first).
