Elections on September 25 – Labor

The 47th National Assembly cannot elect a new cabinet

The vote of no confidence takes place at an extraordinary meeting, the “Change” asked lawyers in the presidency if they should leave immediately

Sources from Dondukov 2 to Trud: Radev can replace Petkov in Brussels

Early parliamentary elections are likely to take place on September 25th, as Kiril Petkov’s government will be toppled by a no-confidence vote. This was admitted to “Trud” by MPs from the ruling coalition, who on Wednesday could not believe that there is a new majority in the 47th National Assembly against “Change”.

In just a few hours, the no-confidence vote submitted by GERB managed to gain the support of more than 121 deputies, including from ITN, MRF and Vazrazhdane. However, the opposition expressed doubts that a new government could be formed in this parliament, and before noon the most probable date for the early elections was known – September 25.

While the majority in the hall chanted “Resign!” for the government, MPs and ministers from the “Change” began to call the phones of constitutionalists, whether they should leave their posts immediately. Dondukov 2 made it clear that one of the lawyers is in fact the constitutionalist Emilia Drumeva, who is also the president’s legal secretary.

The speedy overthrow of the Petkov government could take place in the short term under the Rules of Procedure. According to Art. 107, paragraph, the discussions on the draft decision for a vote of no confidence shall start not earlier than three days and not later than 7 days from the receipt of the proposal. GERB’s proposal was submitted today and the latest deadline for the debates is next Wednesday. The “Change” intended to beat the ball to the last, because on June 23 and 24 in Brussels is the leadership meeting for the enlargement of Europe, which includes the hot topic of RS Macedonia.

The counting of votes against the government in parliament is currently 126 and 114, after Slavi Trifonov’s party’s breakaway failed and instead of the required 12 deputies, Kiril Petkov attracted only five.

An unpleasant surprise for the PP, BSP and DB was the surprising request for the resignation of the Speaker of the National Assembly Nikola Minchev from ITN, who demonstrated a series of blunders in the plenary day, including urgent proposals to put on the agenda the bill on the Electoral Code. paper ballots will be returned during the process.

As the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament allow a vote of no confidence in Petkov’s government to be debated “no earlier than 3 days” after its introduction, the Parliament may convene an extraordinary meeting on Tuesday. And the vote on the draft decision against the Petkov government to take place on Wednesday – June 22.

Thus, Kiril Petkov will have to go to Brussels to other heads of state as prime minister, whose powers have been terminated by parliament. Petkov must continue to perform his functions until a new cabinet is elected within this parliament or until a caretaker government is appointed by President Rumen Radev.

Sources from Dondukov 2 noted succinctly to Trud that the head of state could go to the leadership meeting in Brussels instead of Petkov, so that there would be no unpleasant surprises and at the last moment Kiril Petkov could say “Yes” to RS Macedonia and cash in on your personal interests.
