A man in his 80s, whose identity has not been disclosed, reportedly shot and killed his wife and their two adult children at their residence on Lerdo Avenue before taking his own life. The authorities were alerted to the horrific incident shortly before 7 p.m. on Saturday, responding to a distressing call from a witness within the residence located in the 11600 block of Lerdo Avenue. Upon arrival, the responding officers found the witness, who revealed the devastating events that transpired within the home.

According to investigating officers, the witness had barricaded themselves in a room during the shooting and managed to contact the police. The identity of the witness has not been disclosed at this time.

LAPD Capt. Kelly Muniz, addressing the media during a press conference on Saturday night, described the scene as a horrific tragedy. “I don’t know how much more terrifying and horrific of a scene it can be when you have four persons that are deceased,” Capt. Muniz expressed. “The only positive point is that you at least have one witness that has survived this incident.”

The suspect, an elderly male in his 80s, ended the lives of his wife, who was also in her 80s, as well as their two adult children, both in their 40s. After committing these heinous acts, the suspect inflicted a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a separate area of the house, corroborating the apparent murder-suicide theory.
