According to intelligence reports, “El Vaca” member of the CJNG could have been the mastermind of the attack against the CdMx Secretary of Citizen Security.
Regeneration, June 27, 2020.The CdMx Secretariat for Citizen Security (SSC) reported that José Armando Briseño de Los Santos, alias “El Vaca”, was arrested. Who according to intelligence reports could be related to the attack against the Secretary of Citizen Security, Omar García Harfuch.
“El Vaca” is identified as a member of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG) in Tonalá, Jalisco. Poster that García Harfuch indicated as being responsible for the attack against him.
Briseño is under the orders of Carlos Andrés Rivera Varela, alias “El Morro”, regional leader of the CJNG.
According to reports “El Vaca”, 35 years old, would be the one who recruited the men who participated in the attack against the capital official in Lomas de Chapultepec. Among other functions was also coordination against groups antagonistic to the CJNG.
Briseño was detained in the Tláhuac mayor’s office, in the Santa Catarina neighborhood, where he took refuge after the attacks against Harfuch.
Through the network of cameras in Mexico City, his escape route could be followed up. Therefore, elements of the SSC-CdMx were able to find his whereabouts and be arrested.
