Several people were injured in a major brawl just before midnight in Eindhoven, the police reported. It is not yet clear how many people are involved and what their status will be. They were found by police with stab wounds on Berliozlaan, in the southwest of the city, and were taken to hospital for treatment.
Some of the injured were later arrested by the police on suspicion of public violence or assault.
The stabbing started according to the Eindhovens Dagblad an argument beforehand, involving about 15 people. It is not known what it was about. Afterwards, an axe, broken sticks, mobile phones, a hammer and knives were found on the street and in the bushes. A car with a German license plate also appeared to have been completely destroyed.
