In the German city of Hanau, close to Frankfurt, eight people were killed in the night from Wednesday to Thursday at shootings at two different shisha bars, reports the German police. Six people were seriously injured.
The German police say they have started a manhunt for the still fugitive perpetrators.
Heavily armed agents have dropped two streets in Hanau. Emergency services have been pulled out and a police helicopter is flying over the city.
It is possible that both shootings were carried out by the same person, reports Hessenschau.
The suspect first killed three people in a bar, and then drove to another Hanau city district. The suspect would have killed another five people in another bar.
