Egyptian student killed in front of campus after refusing marriage invitation

A 21-year-old student at Egypt named Naiyera Ashraf killed in front of his campus. Perpetrator murder is a man whose marriage proposal was rejected by the student.

As reported Alarabiya News, Thursday (23/6/2022), this heinous murder took place in front of the entrance of Mansoura University, Egypt, on Monday (20/6) local time. This heinous murder was caught on camera and the video was widely circulated on social media.

The victim was brutally attacked with a knife by the perpetrator, even until his throat was slit, in the middle of a busy street.

The killer, who according to reports Gulf Today named Mohammed Adel, 21, has been arrested.

The statement by the Egyptian public prosecutor said that people who witnessed the crime directly arrested and handed over the perpetrator to the local police.

After examining the victim’s body, the prosecutor found injuries to the neck and chest, in addition to several other body parts. Prosecutors have also requested information from campus security officers who confirmed the identity of the perpetrator.

The Egyptian prosecutor’s office also advised the public not to share video footage of the crime or speculate about a motive for the murder as it could affect the “integrity of the investigation”, disrupt public order, compromise evidence and endanger the victim’s family.

Egypt’s Attorney General, as reported by Gulf Today, separately said it had ordered the perpetrator to be detained after he confessed to the murder. The local police said the crime was committed because the victim refused to marry the perpetrator.
