Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the strategic stockpile of family planning methods ranges from 6 months to a year “according to the validity date of each method” to meet any emergency conditions, adding that “44” mobile clinics have been comprehensively developed, and the service has been provided. Through 5431 fixed units and 582 mobile clinics for “3,342,710” beneficiaries, through “22,477,796” visits of beneficiaries to the service outlets.

And he continued: “25,005” visits were carried out in mobile clinics to remote, slums and disadvantaged areas, during which the service was provided to “258,744” beneficiaries, indicating that the program for providing family planning services after childbirth and the occurrence of abortions, especially the installation of the IUD during cesarean section, was implemented. The program is in “280” hospitals in 20 governorates nationwide, and the rate of installing IUDs out of the total caesarean sections reached about 32% in 2022.

He revealed that there is an increase in the rate of using family planning methods to reach 66.4%, and he added that the door-to-door campaign “Serving you at your doorstep” was implemented, where the survey system for targeted families and women is implemented from door to door and the necessary health awareness is provided, as well as family planning services are provided. After giving birth, the implementation of the campaign began in Fayoum Governorate, and the initial indicators of the campaign showed that the utilization rate in the governorate reached 67%, and implementation is underway in Assiut Governorate.
