Chairman of TPD Anies-Muhaimin (AMIN) North Sumatra, Edy Rahmayadi, responded to Kualanamu Airport’s statement regarding the VIP door locking incident upon Anies Baswedan’s arrival. Edy said that Kualanamu Airport had lied.
According to Edy, the door was never closed. So, he questioned the reason the VIP door was closed when Anies arrived.
“I’m not making accusations, because until now it has never been closed and has never been locked. Why, at a very urgent time, why was it locked? After I reprimanded it, I was sarcastic, and even to the point where I rebuked it, then it was opened,” he explained after the fifth presidential election debate, Sunday (4/2/2024) evening.
So he believes that the statement by Angkasa Pura Aviation Public Relations, Yuliana Balqis, is lying. He assessed that there were instructions from superiors to subordinates until the incident occurred.
“It would be a lie if there were no instructions from above, it would be impossible for subordinates to do unnecessary things if there were no instructions from above,” he said.
Previously, Angkasa Pura Aviation Public Relations Yuliana Balqis initially explained that the door was a restricted security area at the airport location.
“The closed door is access to the restricted security area (DKT), where those who can pass through are passengers who have shown boarding passes or officers who have airport access/passes,” said Yuliana to detikcom, Thursday (1/2) evening.
Yuliana then said that the information they received was that Anies’ group did not go that route. However, changes occurred so that this happened.
“Initially we received information that the group, including the pick-up person, would use the VIP route which is also usually used to welcome other VIP guests,” said Yuliana.
“However, it was later discovered that the movement scenario had changed from what was planned (the VIP group would pass through the airside route using BUS), where the group requested to use the route restricted to the public (DKT) which was locked as part of airport security controls in accordance with applicable regulations. ,” he continued.
