Kyiv will demand compensation

According to the Southern Military Command of Ukraine, when the ship was hit in February, it had more than 500 tonnes of diesel on board and has been sailing without a crew since then.

The rest of the cargo is probably burningsaid a statement from the Ukrainian military, which identified the vessel as “environmental time bomb”.

They blamed the Russian blockade of Ukrainian ports for the fact that the ship is currently sailing without a crew.

Ukraine claims that the invasion of Russia has led to enormous environmental damage and plans to seek redress in international courts. Among the threats to the environment as a result of the invasion is the pollution of water bodies.
