The president of the state Egils Levits authorized the representative of “Jaunās Vienotības” Krišjānis Kariņa to start negotiations with the parties on the formation of the new coalition.

Levits believes the coalition should be broad.

According to him, it should include the “New Unity”, the “United List”, the National Union and the “Progressives” party.

However, this will depend on further negotiations between the parties.

On Tuesday “New Unity” will start negotiations with the parties. on October 4th.

Levits will nominate the candidate to lead the next government after becoming familiar with the new coalition’s contract and reform plan.
