Russia reaffirms its military commitment alongside the army

Central African President Faustin Archange Touadera granted an audience on February 15, 2021, to Vladimir Tittorenko, Russian Ambassador to the Central African Republic. The engagement of the Russian Federation in resolving the military-political crisis that the CAR is going through was at the center of discussions between the Central African president and the Russian diplomat. Vladimir Tittorenko affirmed during his exchanges, the position of his country against a dialogue with the rebel groups of the CPC, led by the former president François Bozize. According to him, there is no question of dialogue with the latter and even less Ali Darassa, Al Khatim and the 3R movement who are not the citizens of the Central African Republic.

On the other hand, Russia supports, according to Vladimir Tittorenko, consultation with the democratic opposition and the vital forces of the nation. But this consultation, he specifies, can only be held at the end of the complete liberation of the country under the occupation of armed groups. Because the criminals of the rebel groups who have committed many crimes against humanity must be arrested and brought to justice. However, the Russian ambassador calls on the elements of the UPC, MPC and 3R and CPC, to arrest their leaders and bring them to justice. “It is the best choice available to them, otherwise the war will continue until the final victory of the loyalist forces”, declared Vladimir Tittorenko.

He reaffirmed to President Touadera Russia’s willingness to work with the United Nations Security Council, for the total lifting of the embargo on arms for the Central African Armed Forces, in order to enable them to acquire the necessary armament and put out of harm’s way the terrorists of the CPC. Russia also condemns the neighboring countries of the CAR which support the terrorists of the CPC in their plan to destabilize the Central African Republic. It intends to take all the necessary measures to deal with this situation.
Finally, Russia does not share the point of view of certain sub-regional organizations which support the holding of a dialogue with former President François Bozize, considered an international criminal.
