Early Detection and Proactive Cancer Prevention: My Mother’s Inspiring Journey

Following the story mentioned in the previous article, my mother immediately discovered and eradicated the malignant cells when she had “precancerous lesions” of breast cancer. This time I want to share with you how she accurately identified cancer cells in “cervical carcinoma in situ” (stage 0)~(If you want to see the story of how my mother made proactive arrangements when dealing with “precancerous lesions”, please read the “Model Students” in the breast cancer community) 👇👇

My mom gets regular Pap smears every year. During my freshman year, her Pap smear test report showed abnormality and inflammation, so my mother quickly returned to the doctor to find out the cause of cervical inflammation.

This time, my mother once again went to the regional hospital closest to our home for treatment.

“Miss, you seem to be fine. It doesn’t matter. You can just come back for treatment in six months~”The doctor answered my mother again. (The storyline of the previous article about the “model student” in the breast cancer community is happening again 😂)

The alarm sounds again

Because she has learned from the past, as a “model student in cancer prevention”, the long-awaited alarm in her heart sounded again.🚨

“Is there any other relevant examination that can confirm the cause of my abnormal cervical smear test?” My mother asked the doctor unwillingly~

“Miss, you don’t need to worry too much. The abnormality in Zimo’s report does not mean it is cancer. Just come back for follow-up in six months!” The doctor tried to convince my mother.

“But doctor…because I have had an experience with my breasts before. If luck is not on my side this time, I am afraid that it may be more troublesome in the future. So I want to know what other tests I can do to further confirm. Abnormal reason?” My mother’s stance remained firm.

“Then you can consider doing a new Pap test at your own expense. It has fewer false negatives than the traditional smear test, and the interpretation is more complete and accurate. It can also check for HPV human papillomavirus and chlamydia gonorrhoeae at the same time.”The doctor finally proposed a second plan💡

crucial decision

So my mother decided to spend 1,500 yuan at her own expense for a further “New Pap smear test”. This was also the first time I heard about self-pay examination options other than the traditional Pap smear test~

When I was a freshman, most people were not as aware of regular health checkups as they are now, and it was rare to hear of cases of relatives or friends suffering from cancer~

Therefore, I admire my mother for having such a strong sense of crisis regarding health, and even being proactive in detecting cancer cells before the doctors did. Looking back now,My mother was like a “tightrope walker” at the time, and every step was full of challenges.

“The results of your examination report show that you are indeed at high risk for cervical cancer, and it is recommended that you undergo surgery.”After listening to the doctor’s advice, my mother made the decision to have surgery immediately.

Challenged again

This time, my mother was lying on the operating table again. You can imagine her fear and uneasiness…. At the same time, I felt sorry for her that she had just discovered breast precancerous lesions 3 years ago, but she had to face this difficult challenge again🥺

“Your laboratory report shows that you have cervical cancer in situ (stage 0). Fortunately, you were discovered early!”Unexpectedly, I would face cancer again this time, but luckily it was not too late~

This time, even the doctor had to admire my mother’s perseverance and sixth sense that seemed to have divine help🤭

Regular follow-up and no recurrence

Although, this time, the “model student” in the breast cancer community did not immediately detect the “precancerous lesions” like in the previous article.but“Carcinoma in situ” is also the “earliest” cancer, which is a great blessing among misfortunes. 😊

My mother still undergoes regular Pap smears every year, breast examinations and other health examinations twice a year, and everything is normal now~

I hope that by sharing my mother’s story, everyone will understand the importance of regular “health check-ups”. The most important thing is that once you find something abnormal in your body, you must actively find out the cause and never ignore any warning signal sent by your body🆘
