Following the double infanticide that moved the entire small town of Hantes-Wihéries, a surge of solidarity was organized across the village. Local residents are mobilizing to financially help the father and Thybald, the eldest siblings but also the only one to have survived the irreparable acts committed by his mother.

On June 30, the entire Erquelinnes region was shaken by dramatic news: Julie L., a 37-year-old teacher, put an end to the days of two of her children, Orphée (15 months) and Cérès (7 years) in the family home located in Hantes-Wihéries. Thybald, the eldest sibling, survived the blows from his mom.
It quickly became an entire region which, with a tight heart, set up an impressive surge of solidarity. Many citizens have expressed the desire to support the father and his nine-year-old son Thybald. A civic action to collect donations was then set up by the inhabitants of the town of Hantes-Wihéries, to show solidarity first but also to financially support Thybald’s father, by notably contributing to the costs of the funeral. “We are united and you are in our thoughts”, testify the residents. An online kitty was then launched at the following address: www.leetchi.com/c/autour-de-thibalt-et-de-son-papa. This Sunday, the prize pool raised almost 3,800 €. Some businesses in the town will also join the action by placing a piggy bank at the counter of their sign.
