Dwayne Johnson explicit about his ambitions towards Black Adam (2022) in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). He said he wanted to introduce Black Adam to a new era of the DCEU.
This is demonstrated by the seven important characters of the DC universe who will appear in the film directed by Jaume Collet-Serra.

“There is a narrative that we stated, and we felt that even when we were making films, we wanted to usher in a new era in the DC universe,” Johnson said at the Black Adam global press conference a while ago.
“The point is to introduce seven new characters, which is not an easy thing to do. There is a lot of balance that we have to take into account,” he continued.
Black Adam will surely be the time of introduction to the seven superheroes and important characters of the DC Universe. They are Black Adam (Dwayne Johnson), Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell), Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo), Adrianna (Sarah Shahi), up to Karim (Mo Amer).
In addition, this film will also be the debut of two legendary DC superheroes, namely Hawkman, played by Aldis Hodge and Doctor Fate, played by Pierce Brosnan.
Johnson admits that introducing seven characters into a movie is a challenge in itself. He also believed that Black Adam needed a special style in the world of superhero movies.
For this reason, the man who is familiarly called The Rock promises that Black Adam will present a unique story, different from other superhero movies.
“We all wanted to make a different and unique movie in the world of the superhero genre that has been hugely successful for many years and has led the business for more than a decade,” Johnson said.
“Everyone came and really wanted to make a great movie and, once again, do something different.”
Black Adam follows the story of Teth-Adam (Dwayne Johnson), an antihero who gains powers from the Egyptian gods but is imprisoned for 5,000 years.
The Black Adam character is an anti-hero character who becomes Shazam’s nemesis (Zachary Levi). Freed from the mundane grave, Black Adam prepares to fight for justice in the modern world.
The film was directed by Jaume Collet-Serra with a screenplay written by Adam Sztykiel, Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani. Dwayne Johnson also joins as one of the producers, along with Beau Flynn, Hiram Garcia and Dany Garcia.
Black Adam will be released in theaters on October 21st.
