Dutch internet falters due to problems at important node

Hoster TransIP, one of the largest in the Netherlands, let customers know on Twitter that due to a problem at AMS-IX, services hosted by TransIP were ‘temporarily unavailable’. “Our engineers have disabled the connection to AMS-IX for now so that traffic goes through another peering partner. You should not experience any issues because of this.”

Also cloud service provider Openworx warns customers on Twitter for possible problems. “There appears to be an outage at the major internet node AMS-IX. You may experience slowness as a result.”


Flinke dip

The AMS-IX is the most important internet hub in the Netherlands. The data flow between Dutch and international internet providers is processed via this node.
