The responsible local councilor Susanne Heiniger confirmed this to RadioFr. Next, the building application will be examined by the cantonal authorities and the Sense District Office. According to the municipality, public tenders are now being made. It is expected that excavation work can begin next summer.
The new multi-purpose building is expected to cost around 14 million francs. A corresponding loan was approved by the Schmitten municipal assembly last December.
If construction of the multi-purpose building goes according to plan, it should be ready for occupancy in summer 2026.
