Dutch co-pilot injured in plane crash in Istanbul | NOW

A Dutchman was injured on Wednesday in the plane crash in Istanbul, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on Thursday. The man worked as a co-pilot during the flight.

In the accident at Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, three people were killed and 179 injured. There were 177 passengers and six crew members on board.

The co-pilot is one of the people who are still in the hospital on Thursday. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs cannot say how it is going with regard to privacy. A spokesperson says that there is contact with his family and that consular assistance is provided.

The Boeing 737-86j of the Turkish airline Pegasus Airlines shot through the bad weather during the runway landing on Wednesday. The aircraft broke into three pieces at the end of the runway.
