Dutch arrested after finding 7900 kilos of cocaine in Antwerp

News from the NOS

Last week, the police arrested four Dutch people in connection with the discovery of 7,900 kilos of cocaine in the port of Antwerp. The drugs were in a container of bananas discovered there on October 20. The Belgian police did not intervene to see where the container would end up.

On Friday 4 November, the container was collected by unknown persons and taken to a warehouse in Emmeloord. The four suspects were arrested there during a raid by the Special Intervention Service of the National Unity.

The container came from Ecuador. The value of the cocaine is estimated at 200 million euros.
