Dubovská took a nice twelfth place in the slalom in Lienz

“Every point is great. It’s great, I’m happy that I’m finally there with an overview, but of course I want to ride faster,” Dubovská, who scored on the slope in Lienz for the first time in her career, told Radiožurnál.

After the first round, she was in a tenth place. “I made a mistake on the plane, but maybe it kicked me in the ride. It was a pretty good location,” she said.

In the second round, which was built by her coach Andrej Prevuzňák, she set the thirteenth time on the Schlossberg ski slope. “I didn’t use it as much as I could. The coach won’t be extremely excited about me. I didn’t do my knees very technically well,” said Dubovska, who did not reach the sixth place in the top ten. She lost 1.68 seconds to Vlhova.

Between goals he tries to add on aggressively. “I’m trying to take more risks to move forward, but I still have a lot of work to do and I hope it will improve.”

The twelfth place is the second best place of the season for Dubovská. She was eighteenth in Killington and thirteenth and sixth in Levi, which is also her career high. The second Czech competitor Elese Sommerová dropped out in the morning’s first round.

Twenty-six-year-old Vlhová won by 51 hundredths of a second ahead of world champion Katharina Liensberger from Austria. Michelle Gisin from Switzerland took third place with a loss of 68 hundredths.

The owner of the big globe from last season, Vlhová, dominated the third of four slaloms of the year so far. Her only conqueror is the American Mikaela Shiffrin, who did not start due to the coronavirus in Lienz. Vlhová also won the jubilee 50th place on the podium.

In the slalom evaluation, Vlhová ranks first with a lead of 120 points over Shiffrin’s. In the overall ranking, the Slovak skier with 615 points is third, the second is the Italian Sofia Goggia (657) and the first with 750 points Shiffrin.
