The Spanish top club FC Barcelona is apparently dealing with a transfer of attacker Sergio Agüero (32) from Premier League leaders Manchester City.
According to information from ESPN the Argentine is said to be part of the rebuilding of the Catalans in the course of a possible departure from compatriot Lionel Messi (33).
Like Messi, Agüero would also be available for a free transfer this summer, as his contract with the Cityzens also expires in June this year. Talks about a possible extension should not have taken place to date. BVB striker Erling Haaland was recently traded as a replacement.
In the team of head coach Pep Guardiola, the club’s record scorer Agüero (256 goals in 382 games) plays only a minor role in the current season and has only made twelve competitive appearances in which he scored twice.
After having to pause several times at the beginning of the season due to injuries and a corona illness, the 97-time Argentine national player has only played one starting eleven in the past five league matches.
