A suspect who had been arrested for drug trafficking on January 28 was killed by police after a confrontation in the Pernambués neighborhood. According to information from the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), he was on provisional release after undergoing a custody hearing.

Teams from the 1st CIPM were patrolling Rua das Flores, when they saw armed men. There was a confrontation and one of the men was injured. According to the SSP, he was rescued, but did not survive his injuries.

A 38 caliber revolver, ammunition, radio transmitter and 698 cocaine pins were seized from him.

According to the SSP, when he was arrested on January 28, the military from the 1st CIPM seized around 1,000 portions of marijuana and cocaine from him. It was located on Rua Manoel Vieira Leite.
