The Republican National Guard (GNR) detained a 25-year-old driver in Alcabideche, Cascais on Monday for escaping against the highway, possession of a prohibited weapon and omission of aid, the Lisbon Territorial Command announced Tuesday.
The driver, without a driving license, realizing that he was going to be supervised by a patrol of the Carcavelos Traffic Detachment, which was next to the tolls of Highway 16 (A16), in a south-north direction, reversed, starting the car. in the opposite direction, GNR said in a statement.
In the escape, during which he performed dangerous maneuvers, the man tried to run over a GNR military man, having his vehicle collided with a motorcycle and rammed another vehicle, which was immobilized.
The young man was referred to by the authorities, namely for car theft and in homes.
