OPENED – A driver ended up upside down in a meadow with his car on Sunday morning. This person then fled. The accident happened near the intersection of Jiltdijksreed with Peebos near Opende.
A local resident was awakened by the blow and called 112. Because it was not known whether anyone was still in the vehicle, both an ambulance and the fire brigade were called. No one was found in the vehicle.
There may have been two people in the vehicle. The police are investigating on the spot. A recovery company will come to the scene to get the vehicle back on the road and take it away.
