Apparently she does not know which insurance company she has insured her car with. This was explained by the driver of a Ford Focus to a federal police patrol when checking the Jalm motorway service area. When the police search computer produced an arrest warrant for her husband, who was traveling with her, for violating the Compulsory Insurance Act, the officers no longer really believed her.
Yesterday morning at around 09:30 a.m., a federal police patrol checked a Neumünster-registered Ford Focus at the Jalm motorway service area. The car was noticed because the police search system showed that there had been no insurance cover since February 2022 and the license plates had to be stamped.
The driver told officials that she changed insurance earlier this year, but now doesn’t know what it was. This statement became more and more doubtful when the police officers checked her husband and found that he was wanted with an arrest warrant because he had already violated the compulsory insurance law.
He was arrested on the spot and given the opportunity to avoid prison by paying a fine of 400 euros. Since he got into an argument with his wife at the rest area because of an uncovered EC card, among other things, she had her father pick her up and her 59-year-old husband had to be redeemed by his son in Neumünster. The man thus escaped prison time.
The license plates from the Ford were unstamped and the car was left on site. Criminal proceedings were initiated against the 30-year-old woman for violating the Compulsory Insurance Act.
