Dresden. In the Klotzsche area, the federal police found 37 people without an entry permit shortly after 7 a.m. on Tuesday. Some men and women were noticed by a patrol because they were not dressed appropriately for the weather, carried plastic bags and did not walk purposefully through the streets, said the federal police on Tuesday lunchtime.

After a quick search, the officers found other people, including two children under the age of five and ten. According to initial findings, the men, women and children are citizens of Iraq. None of the people were injured or hypothermic.

Since Belarusian entry stamps were found on their passports, the possibility of smugglers being involved is also part of the investigation. The Federal Police are not yet able to provide precise details on how the men, women and children arrived in Dresden; that’s part of the investigation. (SZ)
