Fans have been begging for it for years, and it finally happened. Thirty years after the last scene, the legendary couple Scott and Charlene return. And so are their interpreters Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan (both 53).

The very last episode of the Australian soap will hit the screens in Great Britain and Australia on August 1. After 37 years and 8,815 episodes, the plug is pulled from the series. The last few weeks they worked feverishly towards a spectacular ending, and they seem to be succeeding.
An image of a text brochure appeared on the soap’s official Twitter account, but it was the names under the series logo that caught all the attention.
“Scott and Charlene are the ultimate couple in Neighborhood history,” said producer Jason Herbison. “It wouldn’t feel right if the series ended without them. We are incredibly happy to have Jason and Kylie came home to be part of a special clip in the finale of our series.”
The shooting is already over. “It was a very emotional event for us, but it was also a very emotional event for them and I am sure that soon viewers will also be moved by this clip.”
Noble unknowns
Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan were noble strangers when they co-starred in the series in 1986. Thanks to their presence, the soap, which was initially canceled by another channel even after only 170 episodes, suddenly became a worldwide hit. In Great Britain, 20 million Britons were ready for the Ramsay Street experiences every day.
For Kylie and Jason, Neighbors was a springboard for their musical careers. Together they took the song Especially for you on, which scored big in the charts. Minogue later scored world hits and is still making best-selling albums today. Donovan has mainly focused on theater work in the last two decades. Though they’d disappeared from the series since 1989, their former presence took on iconic proportions.

Neighbours It will stop because the British channel Channel 5 has decided to no longer pay for the vast majority of production. Although the series comes from Australia, the British financed the series almost entirely themselves for 15 years. A search was made for a buyer, but he was not found.
Because we are 400 episodes behind in our country, we will only see the final on VTM 2 at the end of 2023.
