Many streamers make their reputation by creating a character, even if that sometimes creates some controversy. This is particularly the case of Dr Disrespect who even managed to get noticed by Twitch a few months ago, but who against all expectations was banned from the platform a few weeks ago. And after a break, he’s back, but this time on Youtube.

A noticeable absence
What we can say is that Dr Disrespect knows how to create noise around him, for better or worse. The latest case is to have been permanently banned from the Twitch platform. It is all the more surprising that several months before, Twitch had signed an exclusive contract with the person concerned, in order to keep him in his nets. To date, no reason has been given by the online service to justify its ban. It must be said that Twitch’s policy has always been never to comment on this kind of decision and states that the rules to be followed are the same for everyone and that, regardless of the popularity of the streamer.

In any case, it will have been necessary to wait until quite recently for Dr Disrespect to give new sign of life. By announcing the resumption of his streams, but this time on Youtube. It should have started on Friday August 7, but after having broadcast a looping video, it is finally the next day, Saturday August 8 that he appears live on his channel. While more than 500,000 people are watching him, he did not specifically provide information about his ban. According to him, he doesn’t know what to blame himself and Twitch is not communicating with him.
People love gossip
It did not take more for rumors of all kinds to begin to circulate, particularly in a period when denunciations for harassment are frequent, especially since the wave of #Metoo. But again, it is good to clarify that no charges have been brought publicly against him. It therefore remains an unfounded rumor and without proof. If we believe his words, then durant son stream it was enumerated that he had to do something bad to be banned, according to him he feels in accordance with his conscience. But also adds:
We’re talking about a huge contract [avec Twitch], a lot of money. There is a lot of money in consideration. So let the legal professionals do what they need to do.
We could therefore assume between the lines that it is a ban due to a legal and not a criminal concern, such as a breach of the terms of the contract between Dr Disrespect and Twitch. This could explain the great silence which reigns around this matter, whereas usually in the industry of the streaming and the video game, there is practically always somebody who is ready to speak to give the reasons or to start a rumor. .

In any case, this should have consequences for him, since as long as this dispute is not resolved with Twitch, it should prevent him from signing another contract with a platform. He will therefore have to go through more standard means to earn money. Which is not likely to be very difficult for him, even if his subscribers especially expect his streams to return more regularly.
