Double Standard: Thermal Power Plants in Germany and France Compared to Bulgaria

Footage taken by Bulgarians in Germany and France blew up the Internet and was shared tens of thousands of times. They show working German and French thermal power plants and the clouds of smoke spewing into the sky.

The short footage from France was shot on the highway near Lyon, and the one from Germany is next to a giant open-pit coal mine, most likely in the Ruhr area. People resent the double standard that exists in relation to the thermal power plants in these two developed European countries and to the plants that operate in our country and were ordered to close.

“Look at what the TPPs are doing in Germany, and our TPPs were to blame. Ours polluted a lot, but these were very clean… European country France, Lyon, a city, do not pollute the air at all, eh? And in Bulgaria, that Mr. Pesho has lit his stove and is smoking, he cannot. And look at France, look… Well done to the French…” – say the people who shot the videos against the background of moving scenes of clouds of thick smoke.

Hundreds of users ask if this is the clean European air and how long will the green European racket and its “servants” be tolerated in our country.
