Double goal for Giroud; France leads 4-1 Rabiot and Giroud in the net; France is ahead

Doha: Holders France lead by four goals to one in their World Cup soccer match against Australia. Australia scored first, but Olivier Giroud scored twice and Adrien Rabiat and Kylian Mbappe found the back of the net for France.

France responded through Adrien Rabiat on 27 minutes after a concerted move when Craig Goodwin scored in the nineth minute. Griezmann’s corner was deflected by Theo Hernandez Rabiot. Australian goalkeeper Matthew Ryan got his hands on Rabiot’s header but the ball went into the net. The second goal came from Olivier Giroud before the noise died down. Giroud’s decisive goal came in the 32nd minute. France led 2-1 at halftime.

The reigning champions attacked in the second half and scored the third goal in the 68th minute through Mbappé. A fine cross by Dembele from the right was headed by Mbappé between two defenders and into the net. The heat from the third goal came before the next goal. In the 70th minute, Mbappé’s cross from the left was sent into the net by Giroud’s header.
