YOGYAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV- For the umpteenth time, tourists have complained about the high prices of food in the Malioboro area, Yogyakarta City, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY).

This time a tourist admitted that he had to pay IDR 37 thousand for a portion of catfish pecel and the video of his confession went viral on social media.

Facing the viral recognition of the tourist video, traders in the Malioboro area were stifling and spoke up.

The chairman of the Malioboro Night Lesehan Association, Sukidi, asked tourists to report directly to officers around Malioboro.

The association’s management, he said, are ready to help so that it can be resolved immediately.

“Our advice is not to continue talking on social media. There is also a means of consumer complaints, both through the UPT City Government and we as administrators are also ready to help resolve if someone is not satisfied,” said Sukidi, Wednesday (26/5/2021).
