The storms have swept across Austria in several waves over the past few days. Regions in almost all federal states were affected. Heavy rain with storms and hail in places caused local flooding and damaged roofs and cars. Agriculture and numerous commercial enterprises are also affected. Central Carinthia was particularly hard hit, but severe damage was also reported from Salzburg and Styria. Overall, the Danube has already recorded storm damage of around 12 million euros for this year. In the record year of 2021, the Danube already paid the record sum of around 85 million euros for storm damage for its customers.
“The storm season is continuing with full force this year. New reports of damage are constantly being received, especially from the west and south-east of Austria. For us, customer orientation means quickly recording the damage and providing our service. Our customers can rely on us. We are already on the job – after the damage report, experts ensure a quick inspection in order to help our customers quickly in this situation,” emphasizes Wolfgang Petschko, CEO of Donau Versicherung, adding: “The regional storms make it clear that solid financial security for these cases is becoming increasingly important.”
