NEW YORK (Dagbladet): This week, the Minister of Justice of the State of New York, Letitia James, announced that the investigation of Trump’s business activities in the Trump Organization is no longer a civil case, but a criminal investigation.
– Will be thrown under the bus
Trump himself wrote a long post on his own website on Wednesday where he describes the investigation as “the biggest witch hunt in US history”. He is also under several other investigations and lawsuits and denies having done anything wrong in all the cases.
In the past, it has been speculated that people close to Trump, such as lawyer Rudy Giuliani, will start cooperating with the prosecution to save themselves. But Trump’s formerly loyal fixer and lawyer, Michael Cohen, thinks it is Trump himself who could throw everyone – including his own children – under the bus to save himself.

For the past two years, the Manhattan Attorney General has been investigating business deals Trump made before he became president, including whether he inflated the value of his companies to get favorable loan terms and stated a lower value of his properties to get lower taxes.
Interrogated Trump’s convicted ex-lawyer
– I really mean that Donald Trump only cares about himself, and he realizes that he is in big trouble, Cohen explains.
In 2018, Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison for, among other things, tax evasion, fraud with election campaign funds, for lying to Congress and for paying so-called money to porn star Stormy Daniels to prevent her from talking about her alleged relationship with Trump.
Since then, he has become a vocal critic of his former boss.

Small organization
It is the sons Eric and Don junior who are now formally responsible for the business, but there is little doubt that Trump senior still rules. The daughter Ivanka also has close ties to the family business, and has, among other things, been paid very well for consulting services.
Cohen also explains that the Trump organization itself may appear to be a large business externally, but that it is actually quite small.
– When I was there, there were 14 vice presidents, including me. Apart from that, there were mostly secretaries and other support functions, says Cohen.

He predicts that Trump will start blaming those closest to him when his tax returns are questioned.
