Domestic violence. Nicole Belloubet wants to develop protection orders

Minister of Justice Nicole Belloubet has announced that she wants to create a national steering committee in order to develop protection orders for women victims of domestic violence, in an interview with the Journal du Dimanche.

The minister is to launch this committee on Tuesday – the day the Senate examines an LREM bill to protect victims of domestic violence – in order to raise awareness of these orders, which prohibit an abusive spouse from entering in relation to a woman victim or her relatives.

The Keeper of the Seals reported that 4,000 orders were requested in 2019 more than 20% compared to 2018. Multidisciplinary committee

Nicole Belloubet also indicated that more than 1,000 women benefited from a serious danger phone against Around 300 in February 2019. The law of 28 December 2019 – resulting from a LR bill – has accelerated this process, she said.
