Did you know that Dogecoin is older than Ethereum? Doge has had a crazy 2021 in terms of price development and is now even in 12th place in terms of market cap. And all this without a clear roadmap (in managerial language: not a dot on the horizon).
When moon?
For the first time in eight years, Dogecoin’s developers have finally released the very first roadmap published. In an update on the Dogecoin Foundation website, DOGE developers say utility is key to the adoption of the meme coin. This goal is again subdivided into four sub-goals/projects. And these seem quite feasible, although there is no exact answer to the When Moon question.
New website
The first project is immediately a big one and important for Dogecoin’s image and business card. The Dogecoin.com website is being redesigned. This includes Dogepedia, a compilation of frequently asked questions (FAQ) about the meme coin.
Library for dogs
The next version of the website will be followed by project two. This is the build of libdogecoin, a library that allows anyone to create DOGE compatible products without having to know the deeper details of crypto functions.
Dogecoin standard
The third project is the creation of the Dogecoin standard. This should make it easier for potential developers to build products on Dogecoin. The hope is that many developers will switch to Dogecoin.
Gigawallet
The fourth project is the launch of the GigaWallet project, which allows developers to seamlessly integrate DOGE transactions on their platform in the same way as other payment providers.
According to the developers, these projects will pave the way for payment providers, game developers, social platforms and retailers to add DOGE to their infrastructure.

The roadmap also lists two other projects (including proof of stake), a proposal and a collaboration with another company. Not much is known about this yet, and the developers say they will provide more details in 2022.
