The Republican Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS and Infectious Diseases reported the most common mode of HIV transmission.

Between January and April 2020, 850 people were transmitted to UfacityNews.ru. Of these, 85.43 percent were infected through sexual contact, 13.58 through non-sterile medical instruments, plus less than one percent of people inherited HIV from their mother.

According to the AIDS Center, as of late March, the incidence rate in Bashkiria reached 15.7 per 100,000 population. Of the cases – 373 58.65 percent – men, women – 263, which corresponds to 41.35 percent.
