“A child held in Al-Salam Hospital”…and the last one explains!

The administration of the Peace Hospital for the Antonine Sisters in Kobayat issued the following statement:

“After the misinformation and confusion that occurred regarding the case of the child who was said to be detained in Our Lady of Peace Hospital in Qobayat, and to clarify the truth, and to prevent defamation, the hospital administration of the Antonine Sisters is concerned to clarify the following:

On January 27, 2023, Mrs. Amal Ahmed Jumaa, who is Syrian and seven months pregnant, came from Beirut to the hospital, after passing through several hospitals that did not receive her, and she was accompanied by the person called Muhammad Ali Al-Tabasha. The hospital put the little girl in the incubator, and she received all the necessary treatments that helped her survive, and she still needs the incubator to date.

The hospital administration confirms that the child is not being held and that the danger to her life exists if she is released before completing treatment, and that the problem lies in the fact that Mr. Tabsha is not registered in the lists of displaced people as he was claiming to cover costs at the expense of donors, and his marriage is not registered, and he is No Lebanese record has been issued to date. Al-Tabasha did not pay any of the costs incurred and did not make any effort to reach an understanding with the administration, which is ready to help as part of its humanitarian mission.

And that the hospital’s administration, having respected the display made by Al-Tabasha, places the matter at the disposal of the Ministry of Health, which is responsible for checking the validity of the hospital’s procedures and the sound choices it has taken, and refuting the fabrications of people who are not concerned with the safety of the child, which remains the main concern of the medical work that it is doing and its health-human mission.

It required clarification.”
