Doctor Sunardi who was shot dead by Densus 88 members of IDI Sukoharjo

Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) Sukoharjo confirmed that doctor Sunardi who was shot dead by a Special Detachment officer (Densus) 88 Anti-terror Police, are members.

Sunardi, who was suspected by the police as the leader of a terrorist group, was shot dead on Wednesday (9/3) night. Due to this incident, IDI Sukoharjo management will visit the funeral home.

“Yes, he is actively practicing as a doctor. A member of IDI, not active in the management,” said IDI Sukoharjo Chairman, Dr. Arif Budi Satria when contacted, Friday (11/3).

However, he has not been able to convey further about the follow-up plan from IDI in responding to the case that befell Sunardi.

“I’ll just go straight to it (further explanation). This just happened to be done with handling COVID patients in the ICU. This will soon slide to Sukoharjo,” he said.

Sunardi was given hot lead by the authorities for allegedly endangering the lives of others during the arrest process. Police said Sunardi fought aggressively.

The police also shot Sunardi after the vehicle he was driving hit a resident’s vehicle and injured two officers. Sunardi was about to be evacuated to the hospital, but his life could not be saved.

“Because of the situation that could endanger the lives of the officers and the public, the officers made a forced effort by taking decisive and measurable action by immobilizing the suspect and hitting him in the upper back and lower right hip,” said the Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karopenmas) of the National Police Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan to reporters. , Thursday (10/3).

According to the police statement, Sunardi is a figure who serves as the emir or leader in the network.

“The person in question also served as Amir Khidmat,” the Head of the Community Information Bureau (Karopenmas) of the Police Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan told reporters, Thursday (10/3).

Sunardi is also active in the humanitarian organization Hilal Ahmar Society Indonesia (HASI). This group is suspected of being a wing of the Jamaah Islamiyah organization that helps mobilize terror activities.
