Djokovic says yes to the Games: “Proud to pack his bags for Tokyo”

Unlike Nadal and Federer among men and Serena Williams among women, the number 1 does not hold back and will aim for the big target he missed in 2008 in Beijing

“I am very proud to pack for Tokyo.” With these simple words Novak Djokovic announced that he will take part in the Olympics defending the Serbian flag. And so after the forfeits of Rafa Nadal and Roger Federer among men and Serena Williams among women, the Olympic Games will breathe a sigh of relief and will welcome the world number, fresh winner of Wimbledon for a trio with the Australian Open and Roland Garros in a magical 2021.

Nole’s goal will be to aim for gold. In 2008, in Beijing, his Olympic adventure stopped in the semifinals beaten by Rafa Nadal (later winner) in three sets. Djokovic, however, managed to win the bronze by beating the American James Blake in the final for third place.
