Disney reopens its amusement parks in Florida despite the rise in coronavirus cases

Despite an uptick in the coronavirus in Florida, Walt Disney World resumed activities at two other facilities They were closed since March due to illness. With this, all Disney parks in Orlando are now open.

On the other hand, there will be no live shows, following a dispute between Disney and its actors over the resumption of operations.

The company’s union of actors and singers filed a complaint against Disney, claiming that its members have been threatened with retaliation for demanding diagnostic tests for coronavirus. The artists were initially summoned to return to their posts, but the order was revoked once the union made the complaint public.

Even though amusement parks have reopened, not all 77,000 employees will be able to return to their positions as attendance at the facilities is limited. Only 20,000 employees have been invited to return to work, a union coalition reported.
