Citroën creates the first museum on an Instagram account (@museodelconfort), which contains about 50 pioneering Spanish inventions for their design and practicality, so that you can enjoy without leaving the sofa.

It is a initiative that adjusts to the new trends that emerged in times of the pandemic, in which well-being and comfort have become more important than ever. He Comfort Museum by New Citroën C4 opens its doors as the first museum in a Instagram account, @museodelconfort. This virtual gallery, which you can enjoy calmly from anywhere, shows close to 50 Spanish inventions that stand out for their design and comfort. The unpublished collection compiles devices that are part of our lives, that we even use in our day to day, and that, despite their familiarity, we do not usually identify as “Made in Spain” (like the new Citroën C4, which is manufactured entirely and for everyone in Madrid).
In @museodelconfort you can visit four rooms
From the screen of your electronic device you can visit now, through the Instagram account @museoconfort, this original museum that has had the advice of Juli Capella, renowned Spanish architect specialized in design. The museum has been divided into four rooms.
Comfort Room. The first of the rooms is dedicated to those inventions that have made our lives more comfortable. It is the case of the disposable syringe, created in 1970 by Manuel Jalon, which also put in our lives the fregona, and that he has been one of the Spanish inventors who has contributed the most to the evolution of our country as one of the cradles of ingenuity. We can also meet with the can opener of José Valle Armesto (1906); the minipimer of Gabriel Lluelles (1960), the first hand mixer; the delicious lollipops of Enric Bernat (1959); and the fan, created in China but perfected with a folding mechanism in Spain before its popularization throughout Europe, among many others.

Design Room. In the second room, focused on design, we will find ideas as brilliant as the football, created in 1937 by Alexandre Campos (alias Alejandro Finisterre); The popular interruptor Simon, created in 1916 by Arturo Simon Vibet, founder of what is today a business group with a presence in more than 90 countries; the essential stapler of Jose Enrique Aranzábal and Juan Solozábal (1930); and the caravel of Henry the Navigator (15th century), with which the intrepid Renaissance explorers managed to travel the world, among others.

Technology Room. The third virtual room that we will visit in @museodelconfort, is dedicated to the Spanish technology that has contributed the most to improving life on this planet. Here we can see the astronaut suit created in 1935 by Emilio Herrero, a first prototype of the outfit that the Soviets later perfected to protect themselves on their first orbital walks; the submarine of Narciso Monturiol (1859); the autogyro of Juan de la Cierva (1923); and the laryngoscope of Manuel Garcia (1855), among other technological successes.

Electricity Room. In the fourth and last room, electricity is the protagonist. Here they are inventos ‘Made in Spain’ As the cable car from 1887 of Leonardo Torres Quevedo, and its pioneer laser pointer, which since 1930 has made life easier for us by lengthening our index as far as the eye can see; The popular Talgo of Alejandro Goicoechea (1941); and the portable ray machine from manchego Monica Sanchez (1909), a breakthrough in achieving rapid diagnostics, among a wide selection of electromechanical devices.

He Comfort Museum by New Citroën C4 also offers us various scheduled activities, such as Guided tours and talks on design trends. With these proposals, the museum aims to offer a place of virtual meeting where you can start discussions and access the Expert opinion of the stature of Marisa Santamaría, researcher, teacher and disseminator of global trends in design. It will analyze the new challenges and design destinations as the main focus of the evolution of human life in different ecosystems and current environments.
Likewise, the museum has also planned to hold a contest aimed at young designers, which should focus on create a product capable of making our lives more comfortable, and which will soon offer more details.
In @museodelconfort the Citroën C4 is the protagonist
Through the Instagram account @museodelconfort, the Citroën C4 takes center stage. And is that, entirely manufactured in Madrid’s Villaverde neighborhood, is a whole ‘Made in Spain’ creations that is part of this original virtual museum.
