‘Did not want to play another season in Young Ajax, it would have been the third year’

Danilo did not have to think long when FC Twente stood on his doorstep. “I didn’t want to play at Jong Ajax for another year. That had been my third year in a row”, the attacker says in conversation with the Ajax club channel. “I wanted to show that I was further and I wanted to develop myself further. That is why I immediately reacted positively when Twente came. I was not sad or shocked either. I immediately embraced it and responded well.”

The Brazilian already has his future plans clear. “My dream is to play in the Champions League and I want to get more playing minutes at Ajax. I came here at the age of 18 and started to develop more and more. I learned how the competition works here and had to get used to being here. “It was a very good experience for me. I want to play football with pleasure and score goals for Ajax. I want to show what I can do for Ajax. Everything I do now is also thanks to them.”
