DFCO (Dijon football Côte-d’Or) | A case of Covid in the Angers workforce on the eve of the match against DFCO

This is news that will certainly not reassure the ranks of the DFCO. This Friday morning, the SCO Angers, opponent of the Dijonnais during the first day of Ligue 1 this Saturday at 5 p.m., announces that a positive case of Covid-19 has been detected within its professional workforce. This is defender Rayan Aït Nouri.

In a press release, the club indicates that it was “placed in fourteen and the whole group, staff included, remains under the reinforced surveillance of the doctor of the club”. Before specifying: “The group remains united and mobilized for the trip to Dijon this Saturday August 22”. Indeed, the match should not be postponed. According to the protocol established by the Professional Football League, at least four cases are required in the same team during the 8 days preceding a meeting for the postponement to be considered. Moreover, as stated by Ouest France, The Angevin club will not be subjected to a new test by kick-off tomorrow, but just to the clinical examination imposed on match days, as for all other clubs in L1.

As a reminder, the meeting between Olympique de Marseille and Saint-Etienne, initially scheduled for this Friday at 7 p.m., was postponed to September for this reason after 5 positive cases in OM. The meeting between Brest and Nîmes also remains threatened after four cases within the Gard team. Finally, positive cases have been announced in recent hours in several elite clubs (Nice, Lens, Monaco, Montpellier …)
