South African teams would return to training with physical contact

At a press conference, the CEO of South Africa Rugby, Jurie Roux, said that in the next few hours, the government of that country could give the green light to the clubs to resume training with physical contact.

As stated by the entity, that is already fixed, so it only remains to wait for the official announcement. Regarding the return of the competition, Roux said: “We proposed to the authorities that it be during the first weeks of September, but we are still waiting for a response from them.”

So, and with the uncertainty of what will happen to rugby internationally as a result of the pandemic, the main idea that the Currie Cup will resume in the middle of next month still stands. Now, everything is in the hands of the government, which will decide according to the situation in the country.
