Deutscher Juristinnenbund eV: Düsseldorf

Asalia Melanie Scheibner

Activity & location: Trainee lawyer at the Düsseldorf Regional Court

Regional group: RG Düsseldorf (assessor)

Previous engagement: I have been a member of the djb since 2019 and was an active member in my place of study in Heidelberg until I moved to Düsseldorf.

Are there regular meetings in your RG? Which events do you particularly enjoy going to?

Although I already know some members of the RG Düsseldorf, I am always curious to see who logs in to our regular online get-togethers (pandemic-related). The online events also give us the opportunity to invite and get to know members of other regional groups. I think that is great!

The round tables and the events reflect the diversity of our members and their interests – this is precisely why I enjoy being a member of the djb; there is something for everyone!

Are there specific offers for young women lawyers in your RG or could you imagine organizing such? How can interested young lawyers get in contact with you and your RG?

We have not (yet) had any special offers for young female lawyers. If you are interested, Kristin Hagel and I are also happy to organize such offers. Our events are characterized by a colorful mix of participants of all age groups. This exchange can be particularly exciting for us young lawyers. So stopping by (or logging in at the moment) is worthwhile. I look forward to topic suggestions ([email protected]) as well as to every new member. If you would like to get to know RG Düsseldorf, just get in touch!

Kristin Hagel

Activity & location: Worked as an in-house lawyer in Düsseldorf

Regional group: Assessor in the Düsseldorf regional group

Main interests and previous engagement: I discovered my passion for labor law early on and therefore focused on labor law first. During my legal clerkship, I also worked for a renowned specialist employment law firm, and I am very happy to have found a position as a consultant for employment law in the legal department of NRW.Bank when I started my career. In the future, I would very much like to be part of the djb committee for labor law and equality in the labor market.

What do you particularly like about your RG? Are there regular meetings?

What I particularly like about the regional group is that we have an incredibly wide range of age and occupational groups. In this way, each member can learn a tremendous amount from the other members. In our regular get-togethers there is always a great exchange that only the djb can offer. Some of our members have been with the djb for over 40 years and can look back on long and extraordinary careers.

At the moment, of course, our events are only taking place online, but we will change this again when we can and organize a “Stammtisch” as we know it.

Are there many young lawyers in your RG? How can interested young lawyers get in contact with you and your RG?

Yes, we have a lot of young female lawyers who have often just joined us, including many female students. Asalia Scheibner and I are at your disposal as contact persons at the email addresses given. 🙂
