A young Colombian was arrested last Tuesday afternoon in the 5 de Febrero neighborhood. For his alleged participation in extortion and threats with a firearm against merchants and tenants for the collection of loans “drop by drop”. Which consist of giving loans with high interest rates. And by having a delay threaten damage to property, so their family or even the lives of the recipients.

They are supposedly managed by a group of Colombian citizens living in the region; when charging, they send people who threaten their victims, for what they assume to be hitmen or “thugs.” Due to the above, these types of loans are becoming a problem for those who come to accept them.
Jorge Iván “N” was detained by the Municipal Police after a woman pointed him out as a collector of these loans; He also commented that he had just come to his home to collect the interest on the loan. And when he did not have the amount requested by the detainee, he threatened her with a firearm that was hidden in his waist.

At the time of his arrest, Jorge Iván “N” was traveling aboard a red motorcycle with Chiapas state plates and five small bags of marijuana were found in his possession.
“I found out that Colombians were lending money through fellow merchants, they only asked me for my copy of my voter’s credential and one for my address, I took out 2,000 pesos that I was going to pay daily with 20% interest. At first everything was going very well, I finished paying it and decided to ask for another loan of 5,000 pesos, but from that amount they already took three weeks of interest from me, I was late on two occasions and they threatened to shoot me outside my house , that he was not going to play live that they only wanted their money with the interests, for which I got it since I feared for my life “said a victim.
They offer money to whoever requests it
This band, which gives credit to the floor mainly in the markets, offers money to those who ask for it. They claim to be normal lenders and take advantage of people’s need to charge high interest, causing late payments, which creditors use as an excuse to charge even more.
Unfortunately, the victims do not come to present their complaints because they do not have evidence and they fear for their lives. They already receive threats against their lives and that of their families.
