Dr. Hani Alli, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Sohag, announced in the early hours of Monday morning, the identity of the people who distributed ready-made meals to the residents of the Issawiya village east of the Akhmim Center, which resulted in the poisoning of 103 people.
“All of it” indicated that the Directorate received a notification of poisoning cases in the village of Issawiya east, and 12 ambulances were paid to the village, and 40 injured cases were transferred to Sohag General Hospital for treatment, noting that after the increasing number of cases of poisoning, he instructed to open the village health unit And 6 doctors were provided in addition to pharmacists, nurses and paramedics from Akhmim Central Hospital, as well as providing medicines and medical supplies of cannules and solutions.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Sohag pointed out that the largest number of cases with the health unit that had reached 63 cases were dealt with, and he continued that he moved to the health unit himself.
On the health of the injured citizens, he said “all”: The cases that arrived at the hospital showed symptoms of vomiting, abdominal pain and a rise in body temperature, adding that all cases were dealt with, the solution was installed and they were given the necessary medicines.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Sohag pointed out that while he was in the health unit in the village of Al-Issawiya east to follow up the case of the injured, Major General Tariq Al-Fiqi, Governor of the region accompanied by Major General Hassan Mahmoud, Director of the Governorate Security, came to check on the condition of the injured and find out the circumstances of the accident and the medical care provided to the patients, pointing out that during the follow-up of the cases of the injured A report of the poisoning of 14 people was received from the Shanduweil Island Center, north of the governorate. The cases were transferred to Sohag General Hospital, and the health unit on Shanduweil Island was opened and medical teams were provided to receive any other infected cases.
He continued, “All of them” that samples were taken from the meals that were taken by the injured citizens, confirming that the contractor who distributed meals to the people of the two villages before breakfast is one person and reached, and it was found that it was distributed in the village of Al-Issawiya east of about 500 meals, and people were identified who They carried out distributions to the citizens, adding that the place where the meals were prepared will be targeted and examined to find out the reasons for the poisoning of the citizens.
On Sunday evening, 103 people were poisoned after eating ready-made meals in Al-Issawiya Village, east of Akhmeem Center District, in Sohag Governorate.
