The Army deploys more than 1,000 military personnel to help vaccination in 13 autonomies

More than a thousand soldiers will be deployed tomorrow – today they have done so in Aragon – with the mobile teams promised by the Government to facilitate vaccination during the Conference of Presidents, in 13 of the 17 autonomous communities that have requested it, plus the autonomous cities of Ceuta and melilla.

The autonomies that have not asked for this help offered by the central government have been Catalonia, the Basque Country, Navarra and Madrid, despite the fact that they are among those with the highest incidence of infections in recent days.

The Ministry of Defense adds these more than 1,000 military personnel to the 1,500 that have been doing tracking tasks in the different communities for some time, which also requested it from time to time, with which there are more than 2,500 military personnel who contribute to the fight. against the pandemic.

The largest number of troops will go to Andalusia, with 50 teams, followed by Castilla-La Mancha, with 22. In the Valencian Community 20 teams will be deployed. Ten teams will attend each of the Balearic Islands and Galicia. Castilla-La Mancha will have 9 teams starting tomorrow, and six will do so in Murcia and the Canary Islands. Five teams began to deploy five, as in Cantabria. Two teams will be destined for Extremadura and La Rioja, and one for Asturias, Ceuta and Melilla.

Two hospitals and a health center available to the autonomous regions

In addition to these vaccination teams, Defense has made its two military hospitals, the Gómez Ulla in Madrid and the General Defense Hospital in Zaragoza, at the disposal of the communities, as well as the Life and Hope Health Center in Madrid.

The Zaragoza Hospital began today to help with the vaccination, proceeding to inoculate the vaccine to 308 Aragonese, a number that, according to Defense, will increase in the coming days.
