HUNGRY
Was there really no island with a little more food? Colleague Wessel, Robinson enthusiast and Croatia expert, had already wondered beforehand: how on earth are they going to do that on Dugi Otok? ,,There is nothing.” A few crabs, that’s it. No bananas, no coconuts, no cassava, not even fish. It leads to more hunger and massive jeremia. “If only a dandelion where I could make coffee from the root”, television chef Sandra Ysbrandy mourned. And farmer Annemiek Koekoek, who can already put on such an excellent wail voice: “They can’t throw us on a rock where there is nothing to eat, can they?” She cried about it.
And actually it’s worth crying too. I don’t like fishing, especially when there’s nothing to catch. But now I miss Tim Coronel who was catching one fish after another in the Philippines. I miss the search for food. Hugo Kennis who varied with cooking. Off to the Philippines next year.

He was almost the hero, René van Meurs, who was busy catching up. Still too little in the Schipluidense locks in the past, because he just couldn’t make the right winning (swimming) stroke with the swim… Now John de Bever is leaning towards a heroic role. The bizarre thing: as Robinson, he can do almost nothing. No cooking, no building, he doesn’t even know what a mosquito net is. What he can do: create atmosphere. Take out craziness. Provide a stir. And corrupt names. Wietze is Wietske, JayJay is DieJay, Loek is Berry (from Penoza) and Rob is the Taste Police. I think it’s nice and ridiculous that he’s still involved. We are now five episodes on the way and the only one who is home (Dennis Schouten) has chosen that himself. Those who are voted out (Sieneke, John, Stefano) get a second chance on another island. What is that all about? What should Kees van der Spek and Toine van Peperstraten, who – sick that they were – immediately had to pack their bags in 2015 and 2018, must not think of this?

Expedition Robinson is the mix for me: I like the competition element of the tests the least, I like the scheming and the social processes. What will become of celebrities if their environment of family, managers, their stage and social media disappear? When food and survival become the main ingredients. Tonight camp Noord bol was a pressure cooker of emotions. Stefano Keizers thought he had failed in the test. The comedian said to the group: “I can’t live with the idea that I have to vote someone else out tonight, seeing how incredibly good you are, I can’t live with that.”
The eloquent comedian – what a great storytelling voice that man has – begged his camp mates to vote him out. This led to anger, frustration and sadness. René van Meurs threw a stick: ,,I don’t understand anything at all about what is going on in his head.” Sylvana: “Have you gone mad?” Yuki: ,,You can’t leave, we need you.” And Sterrin wept big tears. “You were my very first friend.”
All that was missing was a sensational twist: that the candidates hadn’t voted out Stefano, but someone else. For example, Do who didn’t use her immunity chain. Or Annemiek, who displays so much self-pity that she is probably next…
