The director of the Coordination Center for Health Alerts and Emergencies of the Ministry of Health, Fernando Simón, has guaranteed this morning that the entire Valencian Community will be able to consider moving to phase 1 of the de-escalation in a few days.
Asked at a press conference if he could specify the indicators that have left out 14 of the 24 Valencian departments, A request that the Consell has been making for days, Simón has assured that there are two or three aspects that could not be improved before but that now will be possible.
He said that the situation of the 10 departments that have gone through the phase is not comparable with the 14 that have not succeeded and assured that it is closely related to the risks associated with the epidemic situation, which is more favorable in some departments than in others and to undetected risks because in the Valencian Community there is a not inconsiderable number of suspected cases those who have not yet undergone a diagnostic test, something that will be ready in days.
Simón has played down the importance of passing the phase a few days before or a few days later, although he has clarified that it is important for certain groups. However, he has ensured that the entire Valencian Community will be able to consider moving to the next phase in the coming days because it will be in a very positive situation.
Regarding the reports that the Consell has requested, Simón points out that they have been made from Public Health and that if requested, they will be shared without any problem. He said that the criteria in general are related not so much to the capacities that the Valencian Community has that are high in many indicators but with the aforementioned risks associated with the epidemic situation.
